Smeaton's Tower on Plymouth Hoe
Smeaton's Tower on Plymouth Hoe
Smeaton's Tower is located on Plymouth Hoe, overlooking Plymouth Sound. Originally built between 1756-1759 on Eddystone Reef, 14 miles south of its current location, Smeaton's tower was dismantled and re-erected on Plymouth Hoe to replace a navigation obelisk that had previously stood at the same location.
