Rather than use the national format, being a private road they simply decided to mimic the council font as seen on the adjacent signs, although by the time these houses went up around the 1970s the pre-Worboys design was long obsolete. The actual wording copies the old style signs but although the older raised letter format was used the serif font was never used for any national signs old or new, only road names and private signs such as these, there is another on the other side of the corner exactly the same.
