Battlefield - Myton-on-Swale
According to a helpful signpost on 20th September 1319 this was the site of the battle of Myton. An English army comprised of locals failed to fight off the Scots who continued onwards to York. 15,000 Scots versed 20,000 English. The Scots surrounded the English and overpowered them.
