View eastwards from Radcliffe Viaduct.

Pioneer Mill was built in 1905 at the northern end of Milltown Street and on a bend in the River Irwell. It was one of the largest mills in Radcliffe. It ceased weaving in July 1980 (the last mill in the town to use cotton). The building is now rather dilapidated and is split into units occupied by several different businesses (see SD7907 : Pioneer Mill]).
