This Grade II listed bridge was erected in 1788, when Mortimer Road was upgraded into a
Toll Road, replacing the original Pack Horse Bridge. It was enlarged and widened in 1822.
It spans the River Porter, which is also known locally as the Little Don.

One publication describes it as
The bridge is made from coursed gritstone blocks and has a large Voussoired Segmental arch
flanked by smaller semi-circular arches to each side, and has rounded and dome headed cutwaters.

As can be seen in the background the bridge is situated close to the entrance to
the Village and the A616 Crossroads. An opposite view can be seen in
