The railway line north of East Dereham is now in the ownership of the Mid Norfolk Railway. There are plans to reopen the line to County School Station near North Elmham and eventually to Fakenham. It is also hoped to open a small station to serve Hoe, salvaged building materials from the Cambridge to St Ives line will be used.
