The Lodge
The Lodge
Built by the laird, the shipping magnate Lord Walter Runciman, in 1927 and planted a semi tropical garden of palms and bamboo. The original "White Lodge" was destroyed by a fire three years earlier. The house now stands deserted with overgrown gardens but there are plans to convert it into a "Sustainability Centre".
