Peat haggs on Allt an Loin Bhain near Strathmulzie, Scottish Highlands
These haggs contain the roots of trees that once would have sheltered Lon Ban from westerlies. Perhaps the 'ban'(white) comes from the snow that did not so readily melt or maybe just from the paleness of the grass outwith its season of flourish!
