Shortly after renovation to house the Registrar's Office. The construction of the link to the adjoining modern extension was not quite complete at this time.

The only surviving part of Cheylesmore Manor, a royal property from the 1300s to 1819. Different parts of the building are dated from the 14th to 16th century. Grade II* listed.
