The woodland at the bend in the track from Old Sharnden Manor Farm to Sharnden, is the south-western part of Minepits Shaw, an ancient broadleaf woodland.This part of Minepits Shaw contains earth-works which are probably the remains of Tudor iron-workings. The bridleway/track appears to made from old concrete railway sleepers.
