Reflections in suburban Sidcup
People might imagine places like Sidcup are without beauty, but a still early morning in Lamorbey Park, Sidcup shows otherwise.
The present Lamorbey House, seen here across its lake, is now part of Rose Bruford College. It dates in part from 1744 or at least 1784. In 1910 the house changed from a private residence into a hotel and continued as such until purchased by Kent Education Committee late in 1946. The Kent Education Committee very quickly opened the building as an Adult Education Centre in January 1947, and occupancy was shared with the Rose Bruford Training College from 1950.
Part of the estate to the south of the lake is now a public park and this view across the lake is from the park.
