NT8351 : Site Of The Former Whitelaw Old Toll House

taken 10 years ago, near to Blackadder, Scottish Borders, Scotland

Site Of The Former Whitelaw Old Toll House
The pile of rubble, taken over by weeds and shrubs, is all that remains of the toll house. See RCAHMS Canmore link at LinkExternal link which includes a photograph of the property. It would appear that the property was extant in 1975 at least (anecdotal evidence suggests it was still present in the 1980s, but may have suffered a fire).

The location is still labelled on current OS Explorer 1:25 000 mapping.
