Alford Mill - Meal Floor
Alford Mill - Meal Floor
The meal and flour passes through chutes into sacks on the Meal Floor. Essentially the control room where the miller can monitor quality and adjust the flow of grain to the stones and fineness of the grind. The balcony outside allows access to the weights to adjust the sail openings.
Alford Windmill - Lincolnshire

The large Lincolnshire mill built in 1837 by the well-known local millwright John Oxley. It ran until 1955 when milling technologies had made windmills redundant.
