SJ1986 : Little Eye, Hilbre Islands at low tide

taken 12 years ago, near to West Kirby, Wirral, Great Britain

Little Eye, Hilbre Islands at low tide
Little Eye, Hilbre Islands at low tide
Hilbre Island, Middle Eye (or Little Hilbre) and Little Eye on the left. A popular two mile walk at low tide taking around 1 hour from West Kirby but not recommended to stay on Little Eye as the islands are cut off from the mainland by the tide for up to four hours out of every twelve and only Hilbre is safe. If you are planning a visit to the Islands you must allow enough time so that you can leave Hilbre at least three hours before high water, alternatively, you must set out from West Kirby at least three hours before high Water and allow for a stay of five hours or more on Hilbre.
