Wild goat kid, Clints of Dromore
Wild goats, which are common in the Galloway Hills are all descendants from originally domesticated stock. They are disliked by foresters because they damage young trees, but not unpopular with shepherds because of their reputation for killing adders. Most wild goats are grey, like this kid, or piebald, although one goat in this small herd was a lovely golden brown colour: (LinkExternal link )
There is a wild goat park at Talnotry near Murrays Monument where a herd of semi-tame feral goats beg for scraps of food from the public.
