King's College Chapel, Cambridge
King's College, founded in 1441, lies between King's Parade and the River Cam.
King's College Chapel is a splendid example of Perpendicular architecture. It was begun in 1446, funded by the extremely devout Henry VI and took over a century to build. It has the largest fan vault in the world. Miraculously the fine medieval stained glass windows escaped the ravages of the Puritans in the Civil War.
