SX1351 : View to Polruan over the River Fowey, Cornwall
taken 10 years ago, near to Fowey, Cornwall, England
View to Polruan over the River Fowey, Cornwall
The view is from the Hall Walk as it snakes up the northern bank of Pont Pill, a tidal creek joining the Fowey Estuary.
In the foreground are trees below the walk, on the left is Polruan, and on the right, further in the distance, can be seen Gribbin Head, with Gribbin Tower standing on it (Gribbin Tower is also known as Gribbin Daymark - it is an unlit shipping aid built in 1832 to distinguish Gribbin Head from other, similar headlands along the coast).
