The weir, on the Braid, between the Ballykeel and Harryville Bridges. The present course (right) has the appearance of an artificial diversion to provide power for the now-closed and demolished Braidwater Mill D1003 : Braidwater Mill plaque, Ballymena.

The Braid rises near The Sheddings. It flows by way of Broughshane and Ballymena joining the Maine near Galgorm. The Maine continues south, entering Lough Neagh at Mainwater Foot in Randalstown Forest.
