The priory gatehouse, West Acre, Norfolk
Not so well known (but once as large) as the priory at nearby Castle Acre, West Acre Priory was founded by the Augustinians in about 1135. Various parts remain but are in private ownership and, although it is a scheduled monument, it has recently been placed on the Buildings at Risk register.
