The Broadwalk, Walmer Castle in 1927
Taken by my mother Helen Ewing during an outing from Deal, where she was staying for a family holiday with her parents and elder sister Mary, who are seen here. Part of the gardens that Lady Hester Stanhope created while she was staying with her uncle William Pitt, during the time he was Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports, border the walk.
