Near Plushabridge
Plushabridge is a bridge over the River Lynher. Here just up the eastern side of the valley from the bridge are a mixture of buildings along the roadside.
Hi thought you might like to now about the ruin - it is not as old as you think it was built around the turn of the last century as an entry/exit to the mine running towards Browda the stream in front of it was diverted to run closer to the mine and while i was widening it there did appear to be some waste material that may have been washed in the stream. The quartz crystals did have some tin ore attached so the mine was most likely to have been a tin/silver mine as they are often found together in Cornwall. The rather run down buildings to the right of the ruin and out of the picture were the mine managers cottages and although used as stables today actually retain the original layout including the fireplaces. The ruin you see today is the result of an explosion in the structure forming the mine entrance in 1912 - I believe there were a couple of casualties but that is about as exciting as it gets the mound going up to the ruin is nothing but rubble and farm debris that was dumped around the base which was cover in soil and grassed when the garden to the house were improved - you should have called in when you took the picture my mother would have been more than happy to tell you about it and let you have a close look at it - A ruin it is - sadly Camelot its not
