Hell's Mouth Formation
Hell's Mouth Formation
The steep dip of Cambrian strata on Trwyn Carreg-y-tir in the foreground is echoed by the distant outcrops on Trwyn y Fulfran. Although steeply inclined, the rocks are not folded and give very straight outcrops where the beds intersect the eroded topography. The scree to the left is waste thrown out of shallow workings along the outcrop of the Manganese-rich siltstones of the Trwyn y Fulfran Formation.
