Looking across to Castle Acre
This was the view which travellers on the Peddars Way would have experienced on their journey between Thetford and Walsingham. For centuries it was a major trade and pilgrimage route. Castle Acre was established soon after the conquest by William I and there remains plenty to see including the church and the ruins of the priory and castle.
