The whale's jaw arch which has traditionally stood on top of the Law NT5584 : Summit of North Berwick Law has collapsed. This less appealing structure of grey plastic pipes held together with duct tape appeared there on the morning of Sunday 1 April 2007. Local opinion is that is either an April Fool's Day prank, or a reminder to the local council that the whale's jaw, or more likely a replica, needs to be reinstated.
