Thornton Mill
Thornton Mill
A fine old mill building by the Cod Beck. The lower [sandstone] part of the building looks 17thC [and has 18thC graffiti]and contains remains of a breastshot wheel. The upper part is a later addition, replacing a thatched roof. A 19th century map shows this as a 'corn mill'.
