SJ8584 : Twice bypassed

taken 10 years ago, near to Handforth, Cheshire East, England

Twice bypassed
For centuries Stanley Road, B5094, was the route between Handforth and Cheadle Hulme. Forty years ago the road was 'improved' leaving this section by the Belfry (now Hallmark) Hotel as a leafy lay-by. More recently the A555 airport link road to the south has taken most of the traffic.
