TQ2919 : Gatehouse Lane, Burgess Hill

taken 10 years ago, near to Burgess Hill, West Sussex, England

Gatehouse Lane, Burgess Hill
Gatehouse Lane, Burgess Hill
The former lane was once a rat run used by the locals to gain access to the A23 but has now been split into sections by the construction of the Jane Murray Way, the bypass for Burgess Hill, and the A2300 the new access road to the A23. The section from West Street to the bypass now lies within the town, whilst that beyond to Goddards Green is now a dead end and used for access for farms, businesses and a hospital which still line the highway.
