A ludicrously narrow hump-backed road bridge takes the local traffic between Shevington and Orrell over the Leeds/Liverpool canal next to the Navigation pub. Who would have thought that behind the trees on the right of this rural idyll, Orica manufacture mining explosives and list this as their worldwide business centre ?
