SJ2970 : Wooden Structure in the River Dee

taken 17 years ago, near to Connah's Quay, Flintshire/Sir y Fflint, Wales

Wooden Structure in the River Dee
Wooden Structure in the River Dee
Not actually marked on any map I have seen, this wooden structure in the River Dee seems to carry warning or navigation aids. The deep water channel is between the structure and the far bank, although seen here at high tide that isn't immediately obvious. The deep channel also avoids the main legs of the Flintshire Bridge, which stand on the edge of the river channel out of sight to the left. Part of the Corus steel factory can be seen to the left of the photo, and to the right is the grounded vessel Pathfinder, also seen at SJ2970 : Pathfinder in the River Dee and SJ2970 : Pathfinder in the River Dee. The photo was taken from the very edge of the wide flood bank of the river, which at this tide was just a few centimetres above the water.
