Remains of St Mary's Church, Reculver
The remains of St Mary's Church at Reculver built in the 14th Century is situated near the remains of the Roman Fort that was situated on the Wantsum Channel, an expanse of water between Kent and the Isle of Thanet, long since drained but during Roman times it is believed to have been 2 miles wide. St Mary's Church at Hillborough was built out of materials from these ruins.
