Inside Tardebigge top lock
Claimed to be the deepest narrow lock in the country and drained for repairs. This was a Canal & Rivers Trust open day that I had pre-booked. It was incredibly well attended and the light was fading fast when I finally got to go on a tour.
The parish of Tardebigge was transferred from Worcestershire to Staffordshire in the 12th century. It was then transferred to Warwickshire in 1266 at the behest of the abbot of Bordesley. It was returned to Worcestershire in 1844.
