Sea Hide, South Walney Nature Reserve
Sea Hide faces west across the Irish Sea. It is an excellent place to watch passing seabirds such as gannets, fulmars and kittiwakes and often produces rare sheerwaters or petrels, though a telescope may be required to see more distant birds. The shingle ridge is a favoured high tide roosting site for large numbers of grey plover, knot and dunlin. Source: South Walney Nature Reserve Trail Guide.
