taken 10 years ago, near to Tring, Hertfordshire, England
Tring Park is the former grounds of The Mansion in Tring, which has had several owners including Sir William Gore, Lord Mayor of London; Sir Drummond Smith, a London banker and from 1823 William Kay, a Manchester textile magnate. In 1872 Lionel de Rothschild, who had been leasing it since 1838, bought it as a wedding present for his son, Nathaniel, whose son, (Lionel) Walter Rothschild later founded the famous Zoological Museum that still survives next door to the mansion and is now part of the Natural History Museum.
The park was laid out in the style of Capability Brown during Drummond Smith's tenancy. The park is now owned by Dacorum Borough Council and has been maintained by the Woodland Trust since 1993 Link and Link
