End Of The Pier
End Of The Pier
This photo was taken 1 & 1/3rd miles from the shore at the furthest end of the “Sun Deck!” on the Prince George extension of Southend Pier. The shot was taken looking back towards the RNLI station and lookout post. The RNLI have two inflatable inshore boats on the pier a D- Type and an Atlantic 21. This part of the pier was destroyed after collision with a freighter “Kingsashley” in 1986 the new RNLI station was opened by the Princess Royal in 1991. For the record it really was that dark and damp!
