The Great Western Hotel
The Great Western Hotel
Naturally, the arrival of the railways was a significant point in many town's growth in the nineteenth century and Cardiff is no exception. The siting of the main station was a catalyst for subsequent construction of a grand hotel to accommodate the tide of visitors. The Great Western Hotel was founded in 1876 and was part of a major boost to the capital. Today it is a Wetherspoon's property.
