Red Arrows fly-past at Strubby
The occasion was the dedication of the new memorial at former R.A.F. Strubby - see TF4480 : War Memorial, Strubby. The memorial event took place on the south side of the airfield. This picture was taken from the flying club on the north side.
Also featured was a fly-past by the last 2 flying Lancaster bombers (British and Canadian). This was an amazing free day day out - no charge even for the parking.
For details of the Lancasters see: (LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) and (LinkExternal link. The latter, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum's KB726 VR-A, arrived in Britain recently following a 19 hour flight from its home.
