The Buffers at Shoeburyness
The Buffers at Shoeburyness
Shoeburyness, the end of the line for passenger traffic although there is a line that continues to the army ranges. The picture shows two of C2C's 357 Electrostsar 4 carriage units. I was once told by a Driver that these were the first new rolling stock the line had ever had. Even on opening in the 1860's the rolling stock was second-hand. However train buffs will tell you they did get some shiny new stock on electrification in the early 1960's.
