St Conan's Kirk
St Conan's Kirk
The square in the foreground is a rather small cloister.

St Conan's Kirk was designed by the self-made architect Walter Douglas Campbell. His original church was completed in 1886. Not content though, Campbell wanted something larger and work started in 1907 on the church that stands there now. This was to be a far larger, more elaborate design though Campbell wouldn't see it complete. Campbell died in 1914 and his sister Helen carried on the work until she passed away in 1927. It took the trustees a further three years to see the church consecrated in 1930.

St Conan's Kirk is a wonderful church to visit, it's light and airy with lots of detail to discover.
