Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum - exhibit
This is No. 199 Squadron's operation board; the squadron was stationed at RAF North Creake. The board shows details of the last mission flown by Short Stirling bomber aircraft on a Mandrel screen operation on 14/15 March 1945. (NB - These details would seem to have been added by museum staff; an older picture, published in Martin Bowman's book '100 Group - RAF Bomber Command in World War II', does not show them.) The board is now on display in the Bomber Command Room at the Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum in Flixton > LinkExternal link.

The museum displays a great number of aircraft from various countries and, in separate buildings, themed collections for the Royal Observer Corps No. 6 Group, the 446th (H) Bomb Group USAAF, RAF Bomber Command, RAF Air-Sea Rescue & Coastal Command, and local aviation through the years.
RAF North Creake
The aerodrome at North Creake was opened in April 1944 and assigned to 100 Group RAF Bomber Command, a secret group tasked with developing and testing electronic warfare and countermeasures equipment. They flew a great number of aircraft such as B-17 Flying Fortresses, B-24 Liberators, Handley Page Halifaxes, Short Stirling and Vickers Wellington bombers and Bristol Beaufighter and Mosquito fighter aircraft. 100 Group headquarters was at Bylaugh Hall in the Breckland district of Norfolk.

Nos. 199 and 171 Bomber Squadrons were stationed at RAF North Creake until the airfield was closed to flying after the war. See also: LinkExternal link
