St James the Great, not so great now
One of Cardiff's more prominent churches, St James the Great (1890) is no longer welcoming worshippers. The impressive spire was in line to have a multi-floor apartment built in it after the church was sold off in 2006. However, the general rubble marks this poor building's appearance. See ST1976 : Church in the round for another view.

Update (2018): the local council has granted permission for conversion to residential use, after business uses were thought unworkable. The plans are for sixteen apartments, including renovating the spire as a living space.
