Nottingham Midland: Art Nouveau gates
Nottingham Midland: Art Nouveau gates
The portals of the Carrington Street frontage of the station, which was cleaned and restored in 2013-4, are now glazed, but the splendid Art Nouveau ironwork has been retained at the south end. The Midland Railway monogram appears on a scrolly shield above the arch. The station was rebuilt in 1904 to the designs of A E Lambert, who had earlier designed Nottingham Victoria in grand Loire-chateau style for the Great Central and Great Northern Railways.
