Brunel's Bridge
Brunel's Bridge
This historic structure now lies on the Bristol dockside, near the Plimsoll Bridge. It used to span the lock at this point, in Victorian times. A similar bridge span would have been found where the Merchants' Road swing bridge now operates, and used to take the railway across the docks from the Ashton Swing Bridge, via the Underfall Yard, to depots on the north side of the Harbour (where the Rownham Marsh estate now stands).
