SK8172 : Old course of the River Trent

taken 4 years ago, near to North Clifton, Nottinghamshire, Great Britain

Old course of the River Trent
Old course of the River Trent
Looking north at Fledborough Church. The railings indicate where a drainage channel discharges into the old river course. The presence of this channel means that the riverside footpath on the west bank of the Trent runs along the top of the left hand bank, past the photographer's location and then back along the right hand bank before sweeping in a wide arc to regain its southward direction.
