NZ6507 : Baysdale Beck

taken 3 years ago, near to Westerdale, North Yorkshire, Great Britain

Baysdale Beck
Baysdale Beck
An intriguing wild little dale in its lower reaches.
There are a number of large Junipers near the beck, they are extremely rare and very scattered on the North York Moors, but a National Parks scheme has propagated many new plants and spread them around more widely.
In the past Juniper was probably far more extensive. In Swaledale substantial areas can still be found dominated by them - almost like gorse can do.
