Brede Pumping Station - steam compressor
Brede Pumping Station - steam compressor
In the later Worthington-Simpson engine house is this Reader inverted vertical single cylinder engine, No. 18053 of 1939 driving a compressor for charging the pump air vessels to smooth out the pumping impulses. The whole site has been painstakingly restored over many years and it is hoped to put the engines in steam one day.
