Brede Pumping Station - steam engine
Brede Pumping Station - steam engine
The former boiler house is home to several engines collected from off-site. This is a fine Reader inverted vertical compound (enclosed) engine driving a dynamo. This is No. 18189 of 1939 and used at Denge Waterworks on Romney Marshes. It was removed between 1977 and 1982 and for a while displayed at Upper Cherry Garden Waterworks, Folkestone.
