A surprising survival in the heart of the 1960s housing estate is this ancient church, which largely survived the Blitz that destroyed surrounding streets. It is listed grade 1 (list entry number 1359183).
A tour of the Barbican

Photos taken on a guided evening tour of the Barbican estate in central London. The whole of the 1960s/70s estate including the 1982 arts centre is now listed grade 2 as a group of buildings, and grade 2* as a park.

The enthusiastic and well informed guide pointed out many architectural features and references that are not obvious to the untrained eye. Much of what he said in detail can be found on the very detailed list description at LinkExternal link so there is no need to repeat it here.
