From the bridleway to Cuxwold.
The area to the left of this line of view was used during WW1 as a Class 2 Night Landing Ground known as RAF Cuxwold and RFC Cuxwold. (LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) established to house a detachment from No.33 (Home Defence) Squadron while they were operating over North Lincolnshire. No.33 Sqn arrived in December 1916, and stayed until June 1919. Cuxwold contained two grass landing strips, both measuring 750 yards apiece, and covered an area of 80 acres.
After the war it was returned to agriculture, although this short strip running from the farm buildings has been used more recently - see also TA1800 : Across the stubble towards Ash Holt.
