Yate railway station, Gloucestershire
Yate railway station, Gloucestershire
Opened in 1844 by the Midland Railway on the line from Birmingham to Bristol, this station closed in 1965. It was rebuilt and reopened in 1989.
View north towards Wickwar and Birmingham. The old station had both platforms on this side of the road bridge with the main building on the right hand platform. The former goods shed was at the north end of the station and can still be seen in the image. The 1989 rebuild now has the southbound platform on the far side of the road bridge.
