Cutty Sark figurehead collection
Cutty Sark figurehead collection
In the dry berth under Cutty Sark is the largest collection of merchant navy figureheads in the world. Among the brightly coloured carved figures are famous faces from the 19th century including Gladstone, Disraeli, William Pitt and Florence Nightingale.

The figureheads were collected by Sydney Cumbers. Born in 1875, he collected everything and anything to do with the merchant marine.
